I found Olivier Kugler's talk today really interesting. I was actually more fascinated with the stories than the actual imagery to start with. Seeing the progression of his work and how he has evolved from observation drawing to reference drawing made me think a lot about my own practice and what material I could use for my own work in the future.
Olivier's earlier sketches were actually more of interest to me, I feel like they were more true to his interpretation of what was happening around him. Over summer I want to explore this idea of drawing from observation and take a sketchbook with me everywhere on my travels. I am excited to just draw for fun again!
